The Story
Overview
The 7118 is Patek Philippe's ladies' Nautilus — Gerald Genta's 1976 porthole architecture at 35.2mm. The 7118/1200A-011 is the diamond-bezel configuration on grey opaline dial, which positions it above the standard 7118/1A in both specification and allocation scarcity. Within the 1200A range, grey opaline is the more measured choice: it holds the Nautilus's design geometry without the colour specificity of the blue, functioning across more contexts without a seasonal read.
The case is 35.2mm stainless steel in the Nautilus's octagonal profile — the horizontally embossed bezel integrated flush into the bracelet, porthole crown guards flanking the winding crown. The bezel is diamond-set on this variant. The grey opaline dial carries applied indices with luminescent fill; the integrated stainless steel bracelet maintains the horizontally finished, stepped link construction that has defined the Nautilus's wrist presence since its introduction. Water resistance is 120 metres.
The movement is Patek Philippe's in-house automatic calibre, certified to the Patek Seal — the manufacture's own quality standard, specifying tighter tolerances than COSC across accuracy, dial finishing, case assembly, and movement decoration. Power reserve is approximately 45 hours.
The 7118/1200A-011 operates in a distinct demand tier from the standard 7118/1A — the diamond bezel limits allocation and narrows the buyer profile to those who want the full dressed Nautilus specification rather than the clean steel approach. Within the Nautilus family broadly, consistent collector interest in the ladies' 35.2mm reference has strengthened since the 5711 discontinuation in 2021 redirected market attention across the range. Grey over blue is the longer-hold position: less reactive to short-term trends, more neutral across wearing contexts. Brand new, unworn, complete with box and papers dated May 2026, at RM425,000.
