Tudor Ranger - 39mm 79950 2022 NOS

Overview

The Tudor Ranger reference 79950 launched in 2022 as a genuine revival — not a marketing exercise. Tudor traced the Ranger name back to the watches worn by the British North Greenland Expedition in 1952, and built the current model to match that brief: readable, durable, worn without ceremony.

The 39mm steel case is entirely satin-brushed — no polished surfaces. That choice is consistent with a field watch: reduced light reflection, utilitarian character throughout. The matte black dial uses Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9 in the original Ranger typeface, with snowflake hands carrying Chromalight fill. No date. The absence keeps the dial focused and the symmetry clean.

The movement is the Calibre MT5402, COSC-certified, with a 70-hour power reserve. Water resistance is 100 metres — appropriate for the category and not the point. The Ranger was built for terrain, not depth.

This is new old stock: unworn, with box and papers dated December 2022. NOS stock on a current-generation reference in this condition does not replenish. At RM11,800, it is the most considered entry into the Tudor field watch category available today.
