Overview 

The MING 37.09 Uni is a bold, technical, and slightly "funky" evolution of MING’s dive watch lineage. Taking its name from the Japanese delicacy—the sea urchin—this reference celebrates the creature's duality: a rugged, black-armored exterior guarding a vibrant, prized interior. Much like the sea urchin, which can be found everywhere from shallow reefs to the crushing deep, the Uni represents a spirited design departure from the brand's more traditional Ming aesthetics.

The watch is encased in a 38mm stainless steel frame finished with a deep black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating. This "armor" provides exceptional scratch resistance and a matte, stealthy presence that absorbs light, echoing the hard, protective shell of the sea urchin. Despite its compact and wearable proportions, the case is a feat of engineering, featuring a unique pressure-balancing system that ensures 200 meters of water resistance. The signature flared "flying" lugs are retained, but in this execution, they emphasize the watch’s purposeful, tool-oriented character.

The dial is a masterclass in high-contrast legibility, taking inspiration from the "glistening orange treasures" found within the uni. Against the dark, monochromatic backdrop, vibrant orange highlights define the seconds hands and the dial markers. Powering the Uni is the Sellita SW300.M1 automatic movement, customized for MING with skeletonized, anthracite-coated bridges. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement’s dark, industrial finish complements the DLC exterior while providing a 50-hour power reserve.
