Overview 

The Rolex Datejust 26mm reference 69174 carries one of Rolex's most distinctive dial variants: the Jubilee dial, nicknamed the "computer dial" for its repeating ROLEX pattern machined across the surface. Rolex introduced it in 1985 to mark the Datejust's 40th anniversary and its own 80th, and retired it in the early 2020s, making any 69174 carrying it a closed, defined production run. This example, with papers dated February 1999, falls in the reference's final production year, the same year Rolex moved the 26mm Datejust to Calibre 2235 under the successor reference 79174.

The case is 26mm, in Rolex's white Rolesor configuration: stainless steel with an 18k white gold fluted bezel. The Jubilee dial carries ten factory-set diamond hour markers by Rolex, with the Cyclops lens magnifying the date at 3 o'clock. The Jubilee bracelet itself is steel throughout, in the five-piece link construction that gives it a looser, more fluid drape than the Oyster bracelet. Water resistance is 100 metres.

The movement is Rolex's Calibre 2135, the self-winding movement fitted to the 69174 through the end of its production run, carrying a quickset date function and the chronometer certification standard of the era. The 69174 was the last Lady-Datejust 26 reference built on the 2135; the 79174 that succeeded it in 1999 moved to the redesigned Calibre 2235.

Rolex closed out the 26mm Datejust case in the years following this watch, moving the ladies' line first to 31mm and eventually to today's 28mm Lady-Datejust; the 26mm case itself is now a closed chapter of the line, not just this specific reference. Within that chapter, the Jubilee dial is what separates this piece from the standard baton or Roman numeral 69174 configurations most commonly seen on the secondary market; complete sets combining the computer dial and diamonds are the harder configuration to source. We are seeing steady, unspectacular demand for well-kept vintage Lady-Datejust pieces at this size, consistent with collectors generally returning to smaller cases.
