The Story
OverviewÂ
The GMT Master II 126710BLNR's blue/black Cerachrom bezel was the first bi-colour ceramic insert Rolex successfully produced — and the significance is technical as much as aesthetic. Cerachrom achieves two-colour differentiation through the mineral composition of the ceramic itself, not surface treatment. Earlier GMT-Master bezels used anodised aluminium inserts, where the colour was applied to the surface and degraded with UV exposure and wear. The ceramic resolved that problem: the blue and black are stable because they are the material.
The case is 40mm Oystersteel, water-resistant to 100 metres. The dial carries applied luminescent indices and an arrow-tipped GMT hand for the second time zone. The Cerachrom bezel rotates bidirectionally, calibrated in 24-hour increments — the blue half conventionally assigned to daytime hours, the black to night. The Oyster bracelet is the three-link flat construction with alternating brushed and polished links, secured by Oysterlock safety clasp and Easylink 5mm extension link.
The Calibre 3285 powers this reference — Rolex's current dedicated GMT movement, incorporating the Chronergy escapement, Parachrom hairspring, and 70-hour power reserve. Certified Superlative Chronometer to ±2 seconds per day. The calibre carries ten patents on its movement architecture.
The BLNR on Oyster is the more tool-watch-oriented configuration within the 126710 range — cooler in palette than the BLRO Pepsi, and on a bracelet that suits the professional heritage more directly than the Jubilee. The blue/black pairing has maintained a consistent collector profile since its 2013 debut, and the 126710 generation with Calibre 3285 is the current reference standard for the configuration. Brand new, unworn, complete with box and papers dated April 2026, at RM74,500.
