The Milgauss was built for environments where magnetic fields stop most mechanical movements — and the 116400 in white carries that specification beneath a presentation that reads as conventional Rolex. The orange lightning bolt seconds hand is the only visible indicator of what the watch is designed to do; the smooth bezel, white dial, and standard Oyster bracelet give nothing else away. The 116400 was discontinued in 2023, ending a sixteen-year production run; complete-set examples with recent RSC service are now a finite and diminishing pool.

The case is 40mm Oystersteel with a smooth polished bezel — no bezel function, no insert. The white lacquer dial carries applied hour markers with one departure: the orange lightning bolt seconds hand that replaces the conventional baton. In natural light, the orange reads as a deliberate accent against white; the lightning bolt shape remains legible in low light where a standard seconds hand blurs.
