Overview

The Tudor Black Bay Chronograph Flamingo Blue, reference 79360N, launched in January 2025 as part of Tudor's Daring Watches line, positioned deliberately outside the standard catalogue for short, seasonal production runs rather than permanent references. The turquoise dial is not an attempt at subtlety, and Tudor did not position it as one. This is Tudor demonstrating that the Black Bay Chrono is a style object as much as a tool watch, and that the two are not in conflict.

The 41mm stainless steel case retains the Black Bay's functional credentials: domed crystal, screw-down chronograph pushers, tachymeter bezel, 200-metre water resistance. The dial is a clear, saturated turquoise with matching black sub-dial counters. The five-link steel bracelet with T-fit clasp from the current Black Bay generation is present, adjustable in half-millimetre increments without tools, and materially more comfortable than the fixed-link bracelet used on earlier Black Bay Chrono generations.

The movement is the Manufacture Calibre MT5813, built on Breitling's Manufacture Calibre B01 architecture as part of the reciprocal movement partnership between the two brands: Breitling manufactures the MT5813 for Tudor, and Tudor supplies its MT56 automatic calibre to Breitling in return. COSC certified, with a 70-hour power reserve and a column-wheel, vertical-clutch chronograph construction, more robust and easier to service than a cam-actuated design. That partnership, not a borrowed Rolex name, is the real provenance behind this movement.

The Flamingo Blue isn't a numbered limited edition, but it sits within Tudor's Daring Watches positioning: short, seasonal production runs that get rotated out rather than held as standing catalogue references, a different kind of scarcity than a hard-numbered run, but scarcity all the same.
