Overview 

The Tudor Pelagos FXD, reference 25707B, is a purpose-built dive watch developed directly with the French Navy's combat swimmers, the Marine Nationale, and it inherits more than a name from that relationship. Tudor supplied the Marine Nationale with tool watches through the 1970s and 1980s, each caseback stamped MN followed by the year of issue; the FXD revives that exact convention, and this piece is stamped MN22, placing it in the 2022 production batch, the same year its papers are dated. The 25707B is the configuration the collaboration launched with in November 2021, before the range expanded to GMT and chronograph variants.

The case is titanium, 42mm, 12.75mm thick, with a satin-brushed finish. Its defining feature is the fixed strap bars, machined directly into the case body rather than fitted as separate spring bars, removing the failure point a spring bar represents for a diver relying on the watch underwater. The matte navy blue dial is the Marine Nationale's signature colour, paired with the snowflake hands and square applied hour markers filled with Grade X1 Swiss Super-LumiNova. Water resistance is 200 metres, and the FXD omits the helium escape valve fitted to the standard Pelagos; the combat swimmer's operational depth doesn't require it, and removing it lets the case run slimmer.

The movement is Tudor's manufacture Calibre MT5602, COSC certified, with a bidirectional winding rotor and a non-magnetic silicon balance spring. Power reserve is 70 hours. It is the same base calibre used across the Black Bay line, running here in a case built for a specific operational brief rather than general wear.

The FXD's bezel is the functional differentiator worth pricing into any comparison: a bidirectional, 120-click bezel with 60-minute retrograde graduation for underwater navigation by successive stages, not the standard unidirectional dive-timing bezel most buyers expect from a tool watch. Allocation on Marine Nationale editions has been tight at retail every year since the 2021 launch, and early MN-batch examples with complete papers carry a following independent of the wider Pelagos line. Against an RRP of RM19,590, this piece is priced roughly 41% below new for an original set with complete documentation. Preowned, excellent condition, original set with box and papers dated August 2022, at RM11,500.
